A corporate shell could be liken to a house that had been
occupied by a family, prior to the family moving out it was a
home. But now it is just shell, a skeleton a plain house with
nobody in it, but if a family was to purchase the house and
moves in, it becomes a home.
Similar, a corporate shell was once the home of an operating
company but once the operating company ceases to reside there
because of adverse circumstances ( bankruptcy or liquidation )
all that remains is the shell.

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS: AVOID AGING PARENTS BECOMING A BURDEN
word count: 392
By not planning for the future we guarantee that we will leave
our children with a tremendous burden. Just about the time they
are preparing for their own retirement and their children's
college education, adult children often are overwhelmed with
decision-making for their aging parents. As a long term care
administrator I heard it daily, 'I don't want to be a burden to
my children.' But unintentionally most of us ...

It can be a problematic decision to decide what to serve up your guests at a wake. In some situations the menu you require will be determined by the time of day at which the funeral takes place. For instance with a funeral which takes place at between 9 and 10.30 it would probably be appropriate to offer your guests tea and coffee and Danish pastries and Croissants. In the summer if available see if your caterer (if you have one) can provide scones and cream. We certainly ...

"It Can Happen to You" by: Joyce Moseley Pierce
You see it every day on the news. You get up and turn the tv on
in the morning and learn that while you were sleeping, others
were involved in accidents that caused their death. As one
friend put it, "You watch the news and think that somehow your
family is protected from these tragedies. After all, these
people don't live in your neighborhood. They come from a
different social class. They were in the wrong place at the
wrong time." It wasn't ...

Lake Victoria is the largest lake in Africa and the second
largest in the world. The tiny island of Rubondo is only a speck
in this vast lake; being twenty-six kilometers long and ten
kilometers wide. Rubondo National Park consists of a main island
with twelve much smaller islands and the expanse of water around
them. The islands are forested, with large grass clearings on
the main island. The shoreline has narrow sandy beaches reaching
out from the forest-edge with some isolated stretches ...

Members of the World War II generation are known for being more
than a little reticent about sharing their experiences. They
were reared in an era when doing one's duty ' national, family
or otherwise ' was simply expected. "Make no complaints; expect
no accolades" was the unspoken credo. While their reluctance to
emote is not surprising, it has left a bit of a void in our
understanding of their noble deeds, performed both on the
battlefield and on the homefront.
Only in recent years have ...

Suppose your resident is behind in his payments to your condo association. Now suppose he has someone renting his unit. Should you as a condo association approach the renter and attempt to collect the owner's rent instead of waiting for the delinquent resident to pay up? Can you?
Likely not. Your agreement is not with the person renting the apartment or condo. Your written agreement was signed by the resident in question. The renter has no idea usually that the resident isn't ...
